About Worth It, and how the research is done
Worth It answers one question a week: is this piece of tech worth your money? It is written by Ahad for people who want a straight answer and the numbers behind it.
What you get
- One buying question per issue, such as whether a new phone is worth its price or whether to wait for a sale.
- A verdict at the top: worth it, worth it if, wait, or skip.
- The figures behind it, each linked to the page it came from.
- Opinion kept apart from fact. When Ahad adds his own view, it sits in its own labelled block.
How each issue is researched
Research and drafting are done with the help of an AI assistant, Claude. That is said here plainly because you should know how the work is made. These rules apply to every issue:
- A figure is used only if it was read on the original page or document. Search summaries do not count.
- The maker's or publisher's own page is preferred over someone else's report of it.
- Prices carry the date and the country they were read for. Unless an issue says otherwise, prices are US prices in US dollars.
- When sources disagree, the issue says so or leaves the figure out.
- Before an issue goes out, automated checks confirm that every figure carries a source link and that every link still loads.
What the verdicts mean
- Worth it: good value for most people who need this kind of product.
- Worth it, if…: good value only under the condition stated.
- Wait: likely to be cheaper or replaced soon, or the evidence is not in yet.
- Skip: the money is better spent elsewhere, and the issue says where.
Issues are not edited line by line by a person before they are sent, so mistakes can get through. When one does, it is fixed in public: see corrections.
Worth It does not test products in a lab. Verdicts are based on prices, published specifications, independent reviews and resale data, and each issue says what it did and did not compare.
Money
Worth It is free to read. It may earn money from sponsors and from affiliate links, which are always labelled. Neither decides a verdict. See the affiliate disclosure.
